Lights & Coloramp Configuration

During character setup, a dedicated Light Direction_<Character> object is created in your scene collection.

  1. Locate Light Direction_<Character> in the Outliner panel (e.g. Light Direction_Charlotte).
  2. Open the Item Transform panel in Object Properties.
  3. Adjust the Rotation values (XYZ Euler) to rotate the light vector:
    • Rotation Z: Rotates the sun angle horizontally around the character.
    • Rotation Y: Adjusts the horizontal tilt of the light across the character.
    • Rotation X: Adjusts the vertical pitch of the shadow line.

2. Interactive 3D Lighting & Coloramp Panel

Section titled “2. Interactive 3D Lighting & Coloramp Panel”

Every setup includes a 3D control board generated behind or beside your character in the viewport, allowing real-time adjustment of Festivity shader parameters without digging into node trees.

3D Lighting and Fresnel control board in viewport
  • Soft Lit & Soft Shadow: Color wheels controlling soft gradient transition tones.
  • Sharp Lit & Sharp Shadow: Color wheels controlling sharp anime cel-shadow boundaries.
  • Ambient: Adjusts unshaded base ambient brightness and tint.
  • Rim Lit & Rim Shadow: Controls rim light highlights and edge shadow intensity.
  • Shadow Offset: Slider controlling global shadow threshold placement across the character body.
  • Fresnel Toggle: Switch on/off the outer rim glow effect.
  • Fresnel Color: Color wheel for custom rim glow tinting.
  • Fresnel Size: Slider controlling edge falloff thickness.

To enable fresnel, select the object, go to the Shader Editor, then locate the Global Properties node and double-click to enter it:
